I’ve been working on my duty belt lately for my MP gear. I had a basic nylon belt with handcuff cases, leg iron straps, and a key holder. It seemed a bit empty, so I decided to augment the belt with other useful items. No weapon holders or weaponry will be on the belt for many reasons. If nothing else, going into a bar with weapons is usually banned and unnecessary. Using the USMC regulations for duty belts as a guide has also helped make my decision.
My duty belt now consists of:
- Key Holder with backing
- Two open top handcuff cases (hinged and chain)
- C-Cell Flashlight holder / flashlight
- Velcro-strap handcuff holder (high-security)
- Two leather snapping straps (for leg irons)
- Radio holder / radio and microphone
- Rubber glove case (double)
- Alarm holder (working out its function)
With all that, it seems pretty full and functional. I can hogcuff two prisoners if needed at the same time with a third also in handcuffs. From what I’ve been told in the past with the old setup, it was already “intimidating”. This should help. What do you think?
